Don’t fake sick unless it’s necessary, okay? I’m actually sick right now, so I could be self sabotaging by writing this, but whatever, I was bored.
Faking sick is an art that many students wish to master, and it is genuinely a good skill to perfect. You obviously can’t do it too much, or else it will become blaringly obvious something is not right, but these tips will help you seem more sick.
Prepare Your Acting Skills!
If it’s a test you are trying to avoid, or handing in unfinished homework to your least favourite teacher, you really need to prepare in advance to seem sick. Practice your “blocked nose” voice, cough, sniffle, and sneeze for a few days before. If you suddenly develop a deathly fever the day of whatever you’re trying to avoid, you’ll raise all the alarm bells with your classmates, teacher, and parents. So maybe two days before you want to be off sick, begin to act sick.
Choose a Realistic Sickness
Fevers may be common, but they are incredibly difficult to fake, as you will need to perspire and have a temperature. Same for virus’s such as Chicken Pox and Measles. A cold, flu, stomach bug, or severe headache, is much more easy. But most important of all is to make sure that your sickness is realistic, but not too realistic. If you make your parents nervous enough to take you to a doctor, that is when the jig is up. Tricking a medical professional is out of the question.
Don’t Over-Do It*
Similar to the above thing, when telling your parent/s or gaurdian of your sickness, don’t over-do it. What I mean by that is that you shouldn’t predend to be devistated about not being allowed to go to school, or too happy that you’re able to stay home. They will both give you away as being fake.
