This story came to me from one of my other friends, but this is mainly fictional.
To Audrey
My boyfriend Ezeikiel and I have been dating for over a year, and I feel that he has started to drift away from me. We may be too young to say such things (we are both 13) but I though he loved me. I knew I loved him. It feels like he prioritises his football/soccor games over spending time with me. He is constantly blowing me off to hang out with people from the soccor team, and I am afraid he will fall for one of his teammates on the coed football team. He talks about a ‘pretty girl’ (His words, not mine) on his team named Mira-Rose so often I think he’s already found a replacement to me.
I fear he will end our relationship, if we try to continue into highschool. Should I break it off with him? Should I wait for him to break up with me? Or should I just try the long distance of seperate highschools? I don’t know what I should do.

Dear Brittney
This sounds like quite the drama! You and your boyfriend are like the modern day Romeo and Juiliette. However I think if your relationship is to continue, you will need to communicate about how you feel. It would be unreasonable to ban him from the football team obviously, but tell him that the way it takes up his time so much, and the fact he is talking about other girls from the team infront of you is making you feel bad.
It is always a risk dating someone outside your own school or area, esspecially at that age because they don’t always survive the distance. I’m sure you can make it work, but you can’t do it without propper communication. I really hope it works out for you.
